Create a Motorcycle Run Flyer That Attracts More Riders

Create a Motorcycle Run Flyer That Attracts More Riders

Every great motorcycle run starts with a roar—but first, riders need to know when and where to roll in. That’s where your event flyer comes in. Done right, it’s not just paper—it’s the engine that powers your turnout. A well-designed flyer can mean the difference between a handful of bikes and a packed ride that raises serious support for your cause.

Here’s how to make sure your flyer delivers.

What Should Be On Your Flyer?

Your flyer should make it easy for riders to understand your event at a glance. Keep it simple, but make sure these details are front and center:

Event Name
Choose a catchy, descriptive name that instantly tells riders what your run is about—and put it front and center. For example, we host the Vets for Pets Run and our annual Legacy Run. Both names clearly reflect their purpose while giving the event its own identity.

Date and Time
Be crystal clear about when the event happens. Include the date, start time, and expected end time. Riders can’t join if they don’t know when to show up.

Location & Route
Share where it starts, where it ends, and if you can, work in the route to be taken throughout the event, or the approximate number of miles.

Purpose of the Ride
Share your “why.” Is the run raising money for a local charity, supporting veterans, or celebrating the riding community? Riders want to know how their participation fuels the cause and keeps the tradition alive.

Keep all text concise and scannable; using bullet points, bold headers, and concise phrases works best …you only have so much room, after all.

Designing an Effective Flyer

Your flyer isn’t just about words—it’s about grabbing attention and making the details easy to absorb. Here’s how to design it for impact:

Have a Primary Focus
Whether it’s a stunning image or a catchy headline, your flyer should have an eye-catching element to draw attention. Use a bold image of riders on the road or a powerful headline like “Ride for the Fallen” to draw eyes immediately.

Use High-Quality Images
Grainy, pixelated photos make your event look unprofessional. Invest in sharp, high-resolution images that capture the spirit of your ride.

Keep It Simple
Limit yourself to one or two fonts and a clean color palette. Too many styles make the flyer harder to read. Remember: less is more.

Make White Space Work for You
Don’t overcrowd your flyer. Leaving breathing room around the text makes it easier to read—and more inviting.

Use Your Flyer to Give Riders Instructions

Your flyer should help people do what you want them to do—in this case, participate in your run—clearly and informatively. Be straightforward:

  • Direct them to your website for full details.
  • Add a QR code that links to your registration page.
  • Give RSVP deadlines.
  • Encourage them to connect with your group on social media.

Make this call to action bold and clear so there’s no doubt about how to get involved.

Incorporating a QR code that links to an event page on your website is also helpful, as you can share the same (or more) information without overcrowding the space on your flyer.

Final Touches Before You Print

Before you print and disperse your flyer, there are a few final boxes to check and incorporate to make it as effective as possible.

Proofread Twice
Typos or a wrong date can ruin all your efforts. Have someone else look it over to catch mistakes you might miss.

Invest in Quality Printing
Cheap paper and low-quality printing can give your event a rushed appearance. Professional printing on sturdy paper shows riders you’ve put real thought and care into the event.

Your Event Deserves to Stand Out

A strong flyer isn’t just paper—it’s the first mile of your ride. When you make it bold, clear, and purposeful, you’ll get more riders on the road, more energy at your event, and more support for the cause that matters to you.

To make things even easier, we’ve put together a free Canva flyer template you can customize with your own event details.

Best of luck, and ride safe!
